I was unable to work up the mental energy to write a full normal post for this week, however, I was honored to be nominated by Faye for the Sunshine Blog Award. Make sure you check out her blog!!

1. What is one thing you absolutely love but would probably surprise those who know you?

There are a few things, but just the fact that I like to have adventures and don’t care how messy they are. Paintball? Sure, I’d love to play. I’ll crawl through the mud and underbrush and do my best to win. Wake up in the middle of the night to help my friends play an April Fool’s joke on their parents? I’m game. For some reason, people always seem to think I’m always a calm, quiet, goody-two-shoes. But that’s not always the case. People also tend to be surprised when I act. After all, Sara is a very different person than the silly flirtatious character that I was playing in that one musical. Or the German scientist I played in another. Or the whiney two-year-old I played in an improv skit.

2. What is your favorite worship song and why?

This obviously changes frequently, but currently, I would say it was Trust by Matt Hammitt. There are things that God is doing in my life that I don’t see how it’s possible they can happen. But I will trust Him with my heart, my dreams, my hopes, and my struggles. I don’t see how everything is going to work out or how all the details will fall into place. But I will trust Him. He is good.

3. What movie did you last watch? How would you rate it on a scale of 1-10?

I’m pretty sure it was Captain America: Civil War, and I think I’d rate it a 7.5.

4. Who are a few of your favorite fictitious characters and why?

Jace from the Ilyon Chronicles, because he is so relatable.

Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter, because she is simply awesome. We need more Luna’s in the world.

Samwise Gamgee, because I wish I was more like him and because so many have been wonderful Samwise’s to me.

Rey from Star Wars, because she is so innocent and hopeful even in the face of much suffering.

Brandi from the Blades of Acktar, because she is so courageous and joyful.

Reepicheep, Edmund, and Puddleglum from the Chronicles of Narnia, because it’s the Chronicles of Narnia. 😉

(I guess I’ll make myself stop there 😀 )

5. What are three things you can do today to brighten someone’s day?

Fangirl with my sister, send that long over-do email, and smile.

6. What is your favorite dessert to bake?’

I used to love to make this berry cobbler type thing. It was easy, simple, relatively healthy, and everyone usually loved it. Of course, now baking takes a lot of spoons. And not the literal kind.

7. What is your favorite inspirational quote? Share the quote.

This question is forever my foe. There’s just too many good quotes to choose from! Here’s one: “There are far better things ahead than any we leave behind.” But since there are so many good ones, here’s a Pinterest board with some of my other favorites.

8. Do you own any pets? If so, list the kind/breed and it’s/their name(s).

We have one dog, her name is Zoey and she is an Australian Labradoodle. Here’s a picture. (And a picture from when she was a puppy because puppies are just adorable.) 

9. What are three of your favorite hobbies?

Writing, reading, and jewelry making. 🙂

10. What is your biggest pet peeve?

Lack of Oxford commas?

11. What are several things you are thankful for right now?

I’m thankful for God’s promises, for hope, and for wonderful friends and family. I’m thankful for a doctor to be able to help me and for the healing that God is bringing through her.
