Life spirals out of control especially when your health turns against you and worsens. In the midst of this, questions may arise:
Why does God continue to allow me to suffer?
Why is He not coming near me when I drew nigh to Him?
And the painful feeling …
God has abandoned me.
The struggles are real. On top of that, you already know all the verses people send to encourage you, but they seem to not help you.
Dear friend, let me hug you. Although I don’t know the answers to your questions nor understand your hardships, I’ve asked the same questions before.
And silence seemed to be God’s answer, but in that void of darkness, dear friend …
Step forward in Faith
Despite not understanding why and what He’s doing and not receiving answers from Him, and despite the fact that your health continues to roll downhill and more symptoms are appearing, take the step of faith.
Even when it means falling into His arms when you can’t see Him. It is worshipping and singing to Him even when it doesn’t make sense for you to do so. It is acknowledging that God is still God, despite that He seems to not be helping us.
Persevere in Faith
To continue each step with perseverance is the opposite of easy. But do you know with that tiny leap, spiritual mountains can be moved? (Matthew 17:20). Although it may not heal you nor alleviate your symptoms, God is making your spiritual feet like hinds’ feet (Habakkuk 3:19), even when it doesn’t feel like He is, especially when all you feel is weakness. The promises He made still ring true although it doesn’t feel like He’s there.
I honestly still don’t understand why God allowed my health to descend even with Romans 8:28 etched in my heart. But faith propels me to keep reaching out to Him. It is the small flicker of hope for the Spirit’s intercession when I’m in so much pain and fatigue to whisper a word (Romans 8:26) and when the path continues to darken.
Faith. It is seeing Who I can’t see or feel (Hebrews 11:1).
However, dear friend, having faith boils down to this question:
Will you take that step?
I absolutely love this. Spoke deep into my soul. Thank you. 💕
