Dear Warrior,

I sat on my floor, frustration bringing tears to my eyes. I was trying. I was trying so, so hard, but I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t make my body do all the things I wanted to do. I kept pushing, but extra energy refused to magically appear. I took more supplements and rested more and still I kept hitting limits.

What was the matter with me? I was spending all day, every day resting. All I did every day was lay in bed! The lies whispered that I was lazy. That I was choosing this. That I wasn’t fulfilling the purpose God had for me.

Maybe you relate. Maybe you’ve felt those tears. Maybe you’ve been shackled by that shame. Maybe you’ve heard those lies.

If so, this is for you.

We’re doing another Diamonds Conference for Christians with chronic illnesses — and it’s all about rest. Resting in the storm, just like Jesus.

We are here to look you in the eyes and tell you that you still have purpose. To tell you that rest is more than just laying in bed. To remind you of the battle you’re fighting and that Jesus needed rest too. To speak truth and encouragement to your weary heart. And to help you speak those things to your own heart.

You are not alone. Let’s learn together to rest for the glory of God.

“Lord, we come to you in need. We come to you with our weariness, with our burdens, with our frustration, and with our confusion. You know the things on our hearts and our minds today. I ask that you would meet us through this conference. Speak truth and life and hope to our tired hearts and souls. Help us to understand rest as you created it to be — a gift and a form of worship. Not a place of shame or fear. Thank you for how you shepherd us, Abba. We love you. Amen.”

Praying for you,

Sara

I am one of those individuals who is not able to attend church right now, nor able to leave home much.  To gather together and be encouraged amidst this type of chronic illness, in my own home, was such a blessing.  I found myself being reminded of things God had already been teaching me, being reminded that I am not alone in my struggle and hearing new words of encouragement.”

I couldn’t watch all the sessions, so I’m looking forward to listening to the recordings. The ones I could watch were very good! Thanks again!”
